About BrainJuiceHave you had your dose of food-colouring-and-preservative-free mental stimulation today?

Hi! We're BrainJuice. Since 21st January 1999 we've been dedicated to 'real' puzzles -- problems that can be solved mainly or wholly on logic or maths.

The puzzles come with little stories, which we hope are entertaining and add to the colour of the site.

The compilation of puzzles were collected by Mickey Lostia and Tung Mac. They are selected based on how they can be solved. In our opinion, the best ones are the ones which involve logic and a little bit of creative thinking or reading between the lines. Pure logic puzzles are also fun, but can get tedious at times. Some 'puzzles' are basically jokes and are not even considered for this page.

About Us

Mickey holds a BSc Computer Science degree from London University, where he met Tung. He then started work at a computer games company before deciding to move back to his home country, Italy, to be with his long term girlfriend. He is now an IT consultant for a large international company.

Tung also holds a BSc Computer Science degree from London University (yes they both passed!). He went on to get an MSc Computation from Oxford University. Now back in London, he is currently working as a software developer for an internet technology company.

Kobold, a regular of our forum, has contributed so much time and brain juice that we felt it right to mention him here. Also known as Johan Engelbeen, he is a programmer in Antwerp, Belgium. Cheers, geezer!

More information about the both of them can be found on their personal homepages, in the links section.

The Site

Browser Compatibility

We believe in cross browser compatibility. However, unlike our original site, we've now decided to make use of CSS for its flexibility and ease of maintenance. Whilst this does mean that only relatively new browsers (Netscape 4+, IE 4+ etc) will view the page as intended, we feel that most people are using such up-to-date browsers.

This site has been tested and known to work in the following browsers:

This site is known to have issues on the following browsers:

  • Microsoft WebTV 2 official emulator. (Minor issue: table cell background colours do not appear)
  • Internet Explorer 4 for Macintosh. (Gaps in frames)
  • Netscape 4.7 for Macintosh. (Repeating images)
